Overview
Your opportunity
You might think you already know a lot about Bupa. You’ll know we provide health insurance and aged care services across Australia, and you’ve probably also seen our dental and optical clinics in your local shopping centres. But what you might not realise is that we also deliver health services in support of key government departments including delivering health services to Defence Force personnel and their families in Australia.
About the Role
As a Nurse Manager (internally called a Nurse Coordinator) with Bupa ADF Health Services, you will provide leadership and support to your region in North Queensland and will be based at RAAF Townsville Health Centre.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a NUM or nurse with leadership skills to stretch into a Nursing Coordinator role, growing your skillset and developing your expertise within the Defence sector.
This is a Permanent Full-time position.
Taking the role of a Nurse Coordinator, you will:
- Support operational capability by preparing members for global deployment and exercises
- Take a hands-on approach to integrating with your team when the tempo requires it and to enable assessment of staff capability and process integrity
- Accept responsibility for complex situations which may encompass clinical, managerial, and educational contexts e.g. assistance with emergency medical responses, clinical review, and complaint resolution
- Coordinate vaccination parades
- Coordinate sick parade, triage of members within a Primary Health Care Team model
- Investigate clinical incidents to include review and corrective action feedback to staff
- Review and update of department SOPs
- Coordinate roster, staffing levels and supervision of the nursing and Defence Force staff, to enable the provision of high standard of health care
About you
To thrive in this role, you will be an inherently collaborative worker who enjoys working with people of all backgrounds to achieve common goals. You’ll be able to pivot to different workplace cultures and clinical environments easily, with an inherent focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
You will also require:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Div 1 RN
- Prior experience as a NUM/coordinator
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Nursing or Health Management or working toward same with approval to undertake with an RTO
- Current Defence Health Services experience (desirable)
- Base Line Security Clearance (desirable)
Be at the heart of it with Bupa
This isn’t your average nurse leadership role. This new role offers an incredible opportunity to not only extend you clinical and leadership skillset, but also make a real impact on our services to help shape the health outcomes of the men and women serving in Australian Defence Forces.
We also offer:
- Tangible employee benefits, performance incentives and discounts on Bupa products
- A supportive team where your contribution is truly valued
- Opportunity to build your career with a Global leader in healthcare
