Job description:

-Prepare all work areas to prevent paint splatter and damage.

-Cover fixtures, fittings, and flooring using drop sheets, painter’s tape, and other protective materials.

-Ensure proper and safe use of all equipment, including ladders, scaffolding, and power tools.

-Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations while on-site.

-Select, mix, and prepare appropriate paints and materials, ensuring accuracy in product choice for each surface type.

-Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and priming as needed.

-Fill holes, cracks, and imperfections using suitable fillers and sealants to ensure a smooth finish.

-Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

-Calculate material requirements and assist in preparing accurate job quotes.

-Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the worksite, ensuring all tools and materials are stored appropriately.

-Perform touch-ups and final inspections to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to project specifications.


Qualifications/Attributes:

-Must hold a minimum Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or related) or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification.

-Must possess at least a minimum of 1 years of relevant work experience.

-Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.

-Proven experience as a painter with great attention to detail.

-Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.

-Solid knowledge of various painting techniques.

-Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)


Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
