About the Role

We are seeking a Nursery Hand to join ourKangaroo Island Abalone Farming Operations.The role will involve working as part of the larger propagation team to assist in broodstock management, larval rearing, juvenile care, and stock transfers. The ideal candidate will be a practical, hands-on individual willing to perform a variety of tasks. This is a permanent position, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:50 pm.

Key Responsibilities

- Stock Husbandry: cleaning, feeding and movement of stock.
- Spawning, larval rearing and juvenile management.
- Operating mechanical equipment such as grading machines, preparation of product for market/transport as well as general maintenance duties.
- Assist with R&D projects, ensuring correct procedures and relevant trials are undertaken.
- Record data accurately to maintain up-to-date records.
- Adhere to WH&S policies, practices and procedures.
