Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chinese Teacher to join our dynamic Secondary School team at St Andrews Christian College. As a Secondary School Teacher – Chinese, you will be responsible for:

Responsibilities

- Delivering engaging and effective Chinese language lessons to secondary school students.

- Developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that caters to different learning styles and abilities.

- Providing constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development.

- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and personal development.

- Collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Chinese language program.

Qualifications

- A recognised teaching qualification with relevant endorsements in Chinese language education.

- Demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written Chinese, along with a sound understanding of Chinese culture.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.

- A commitment to upholding the values and ethos of St Andrews Christian College within the classroom setting.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Fluency in both spoken and written Chinese

- Proven experience in teaching Chinese language and culture at secondary school level

- Demonstrated ability to develop engaging and effective lesson plans for Chinese language classes

- Strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and its application to the teaching of Chinese

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues

- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds

- Commitment to contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care responsibilities

- Relevant teaching qualifications and certifications as required by Victorian Institute of Teaching
