The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) in collaboration with Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead to join our team in Alice Springs, Australia.
Reporting to the BGS Facilities Engineer, this on-site position will lead a multi-disciplined team in the successful execution of all aspects of facility operations to drive high-reliability and to continuously implement industry leading O&M methodologies and technologies. Directly focused on support of facility infrastructure, i.e. resilient power distribution, cooling systems, facility management/industrial control systems, etc. Please note this position does not include responsibilities for data management or data center rack operations.
Leading a multi-disciplined team in delivering a range of asset management, technical and facilities support services, you will be making a meaningful contribution in supporting the capabilities of our National Security Community.
Responsibilities
- Plans and controls the delivery of maintenance and support services at the Alice Spring site to accomplish business objectives, including achievement of key contract performance indicators, cost and schedule control, risk and issue management.
- Manages a constructive customer relationship, providing a responsive direct interface with senior customer representatives to communicate work progress and priorities across all service areas, and keep the customer fully informed.
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and/or customer requirements by coordinating installation, construction, maintenance, documentation, support/testing activities.
- Leads a focused culture of continuous improvement and collaboration to drive productivity and cost‑effective service delivery.
- Leads and manages the team by personally demonstrating Boeing values and exemplary workplace behaviours.
Selection Criteria
- Business acumen and strong leadership skills to deliver against organisational objectives.
- Highly developed customer relationship management skills and extensive practical experience.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with influence and build productive working relationships.
- Ability to think strategically, develop action plans, monitor performance and make proactive decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in environment, health and safety management.
- Personal drive, ability to set priorities and work to deadlines.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Australian Government security requirements.
You will be required to successfully undergo an Australian Government positive vetting (PV) security clearance. You MUST be willing to disclose all required information and MUST have the ability to verify your background for whole of life (i.e. birth to present time).
