Employment type: Part time, Fixed term position for 2 years

Remuneration: Salary from $142,877.43 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based with potential for a hybrid work arrangement. This role may be required to work across multiple locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality

About the role

Join Wyndham City Council’s Maternal and Child Health (MCH) team and play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety and integrity of this essential community service. Working closely with the MCH Leadership Team, you will manage complex and time-sensitive requests, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and protect client confidentiality across all aspects of the service through high-quality documentation and communication practices across the service.

You will act as a central point of coordination between multiple Team Leaders and diverse stakeholder groups, often supporting the resolution of sensitive issues where discretion, sound judgement and professionalism are critical. By ensuring that information is accurate, secure and compliant, you will contribute directly to the protection of client safety and the delivery of high-quality care.

Your role in building the capability of colleagues across the MCH service is equally important. You will help teams understand their responsibilities around information sharing, record-keeping and compliance, embedding strong practices that not only meet legislative requirements but also strengthen day-to-day service delivery. This is a role for someone who thrives under pressure, can confidently navigate competing priorities, and understands the far-reaching impact that robust governance and compliance have on the wellbeing of families and children in the community.

What your day will look like

- Oversee and triage the Team Leader’s inbox, escalating clinical, legal, and operational matters as needed
- Lead coordination of internal processes related to privacy, confidentiality and information sharing
- Maintain and update central registers including Freedom of Information (FOI) logs, risk and incident reports, and information sharing responses
- Conduct governance audits and contribute to Occupational Health and Safety compliance initiatives
- Support the development of staff capability through training and resources that strengthen documentation and information management practices
- Ensure adherence to information sharing schemes (CISS, FVISS, and Child Protection protocols)
- Liaise with FOI officer to respond to FOI requests, particularly those involving clinical records
- Monitor and support compliance with privacy laws, health record legislation, and Council’s internal documentation standard

What you will bring

Mandatory Qualifications to practice as a MCH Nurse in Victoria, as outlined in the Position Description –

- Current registration with AHPRA: Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Registered Midwife, and;
- In addition to the above registrations, accredited postgraduate Diploma/Degree (or equivalent) in Child and Family Health Nursing.

At least five years' experience in Maternal and Child Health nursing

Proven leadership skills and experience in developing high-performing teams and innovative service delivery

Strong background in change management, project delivery, and continuous improvement

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to gather and document business requirements from various stakeholders

Outstanding time management and organisational abilities to manage priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to resolve complex issues and collaborate effectively

An employee Working with Children Check

Experience in local government (desirable)
