Salary: starting from $76,515.00

Mechanics must be physically fit experienced motor mechanic with good attention to details to work in our busy bus service centre. The primary duties of a mechanic include performing diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults, analysing diagnostic test results, and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components for the fleet of buses and heavy vehicles.

Mechanics need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with customers daily.

Mechanic Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to identify faults.

- Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, steering, and braking systems.

- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with customers.

- General servicing and maintenance of vehicles including checking lighting systems and performing preventative maintenance

- Safety inspections, adhering to an inspection procedure checklist

- Breakdown and mechanical repairs, providing customers with estimated time for repairs

- Running diagnostic tests

- Repairing and replacing dysfunctional parts

- Repairing, maintaining, and replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems

- Road test driving vehicles to gauge performance

- Wheel alignments and wheel balancing

- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles and a parts inventory

- Maintaining equipment and tools, and a clean working environment

- Conducting quality checks on all work

Mechanic Requirements

- Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering

- Valid driver/'s license

- Aptitude for mathematics and science

- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components

- Good IT and diagnostic skills

- Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds

- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools

- Good interpersonal skills

- Good organization skills
