Boeing Australia Defence is seeking talents to join the MQ-28 Ghost Bat program from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to an innovative team. This role is based at Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba.
The Opportunity
Boeing is taking another bold step in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. MQ28 is the first military aircraft to be designed, engineered and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years. This unmanned teaming aircraft uses artificial intelligence to extend the capabilities of manned and unmanned platforms and aims to unlock global defence and aerospace opportunities for Boeing and Queensland. The MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities. As we accelerate the development program and expand the aircraft flight envelope through the test program, we are seeking the very best talent from a diverse range of backgrounds to help grow and contribute to our innovative team.
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for an Equipment and Tooling Designer/Engineer to join our team supporting the cutting edge MQ-28 Ghost Bat program. In this role you will support the establishment and ongoing execution of the future full rate MQ-28 production facility. We are looking for someone who will embrace our company's behaviours and is willing to innovate.
This role is based at Wellcamp Airport, Toowoomba.
Role
As an Equipment and Tooling Engineer within BDA, you will:
- Investigate, create and review equipment and tooling concepts, designs and datasets;
- Participate in product design reviews and research the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan and establish technical requirements for producibility.
- Develop statements of work with validated specifications, requirements, and functions; Prepares design or fabrication off-load packages.
- Develop, document and maintain equipment and tooling inspection, maintenance and spares requirements;
- Train personnel as needed.
- Research designs to create and revise usage instructions.
- Provide technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analysing data to identify solutions.
- Conduct studies to determine current condition and make recommendation for disposition of the equipment and tooling.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment and have:
- Have obtained advanced education qualifications (e.g. Associate Degree or Diploma) and 3 or more years' relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and production environments.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools, e.g. CATIA/Enovia, Teamcenter, etc. 3DExperience expertise highly preferred.
- Previous experience building complex parts and assemblies or integrating systems within Aerospace, Defence or complex engineering project environments will be highly regarded.
- Effective communication skills with different stakeholders across the business.
