Senior Infrastructure Engineer
12 months contract with 2 x 12 months extension option
Location - Canberra

What You’ll Do

- Lead the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft Windows Server environments up to version 2022 in enterprise settings.
- Manage and optimize complex Citrix environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Drive virtualized solutions using VMware and Nutanix technologies—designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end technical solutions.
- Contribute to infrastructure refresh projects, system upgrades, and relocations, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in strategic planning to enhance the security, resilience, and automation of the organization’s global infrastructure.

Required Skills

- Extensive experience with Microsoft Server 2019 and 2022 in enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise managing large-scale Citrix deployments.
- Strong background in virtualization technologies, including VMware and Nutanix architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex hardware and software issues across enterprise systems.
- Excellent communication skills capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work autonomously and in team settings, demonstrating high attention to detail and organisational prowess.
- Active NV2 security clearance (or higher).

Nice to Have Skills

- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting.
- Familiarity with other cloud or hybrid IT environments.
- Knowledge of network security protocols and practices.
- Prior involvement in international or government sector projects.

Preferred Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with a focus on server, storage, and virtualization technologies.

Other Requirements

- Mandatory active NV2 security clearance.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and adapt to evolving technologies.
