About your opportunity
As a Senior Drinking Water Quality Advisor, you will join the Drinking Water Quality Team to implement and continuously improve Seqwater’s drinking water quality management system. You’ll provide expert advice across operations, maintenance, planning, and asset management to ensure safe, high-quality water.
You’ll lead water quality risk assessments, audits, and incident response activities, acting as the key operational interface for water quality matters. Working within a team of dedicated professionals, you’ll drive excellence in drinking water quality management across Seqwater’s network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional Drinking Water Quality Risk Assessments and DWQMP development in line with ADWG and ISO22000.
- Act as the regional water quality subject matter expert and key technical advisor.
- Be actively involved in maintaining ISO22000 certification and quality management systems.
- Lead and participate in internal and external water quality audits.
- Assess and manage water quality incidents, providing timely advice and response.
- Liaise with Queensland Health, Water Supply Regulation, and bulk water customers.
- Deliver training and awareness programs for operational and maintenance teams.
- Analyse and report on long-term drinking water quality trends and asset performance.
- Support system and asset improvement planning for enhanced water quality outcomes.
- Promote a strong safety, quality, and compliance culture across all operations.
About You
- Degree in Microbiological, Chemical, or Environmental Science or Engineering (postgraduate desirable).
- 7+ years’ experience in water quality management, treatment, or risk systems.
- Strong knowledge of ADWG, DWQMP, and ISO22000 frameworks.
- Skilled in auditing, regulatory engagement, and incident response.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to public health and continuous improvement.
This position has a competitive salary range of $149,648.11 - $162,324.62 (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
