An exciting opportunity exists to join the Victorian Government biggest shared service operations The Common Corporate Support Branch (CCSB) provides corporate services and associated systems to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Health (DH) under a shared services arrangement. While we're administratively housed within the Department of Health, CCSB forms part of the corporate services delivery capability of both departments. The Senior Finance Analyst will play role in managing budgets, analysing financial performance, and providing evidence-based insights to support planning and resource allocation. You will identify financial risks and opportunities, ensure compliance with financial policies, and deliver timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
About the role
The Senior Finance Analyst will contribute to documentation that includes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials and advice to customers in relation to the service. They are also participants in the monitoring and reporting of service levels, staff and customer feedback.
They are part of a team with specialist expertise and/or skills in corporate reporting systems, having responsibility for all aspects associated with the management of people including performance management and capability development, and contribute to the leadership of the wider branch through their involvement in cross branch knowledge sharing collaboration and people development activities.
Integral to the success of this position will be your capacity to operate within an environment of change and to drive and implement initiatives and efficiencies that will improve the delivery of services across the department and positively impact the customer service expectation of the department's employees.

About us
CCSB uses a flexible task allocation model (also known as the FTA model) to ensure it utilises all its available capacity in the most efficient way according to the changing priorities it receives. This is designed to reduce the workload pressure in particular parts of the branch at particular times caused by fluctuations in demand for many of its services.
Under this model,allstaff are given the opportunity to, and are expected to, develop their knowledge and skills in relation to a wide range of services that CCSB provides and will be allocated to work on different services at different times according to priorities, their level and the knowledge and skills they have developed.
About you
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in managing budgets, analysing financial performance, and providing evidence-based insights to support planning and resource allocation. You will identify financial risks and opportunities, ensure compliance with financial policies, and deliver timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
The successful candidate will demonstrate service excellence through a strong understanding of stakeholder needs, providing tailored financial solutions that enable effective program and policy delivery. You will use your analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data, develop practical recommendations, and drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong planning and organisational capabilities, able to set clear priorities, manage competing demands, and deliver results under pressure. You will build effective relationships across the Department, collaborating with teams and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively. You will also demonstrate adaptability, integrity, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Mandatory
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract management and financial process, with specific understanding of the Victorian government processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and processes.
Desirable
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to finance or business administration would be desirable.
