Overview
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an IT Operations Manager to join a highly regarded organisation based in Manly, where your professional acumen will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless provision of technology services across multiple office locations.
This role is well-suited to individuals who thrive within a collegial and respectful environment, value harmonious collaboration, and appreciate the diversity inherent in both operational and project-based IT functions. You will serve as a pivotal link between daily IT administration and non-core project support, contributing to the efficiency of business operations. The organisation prioritises knowledge sharing and professional development, affording you the opportunity to refine your skills while contributing to an inclusive and cooperative workplace.
- Undertake a central position in technology operations by supporting both routine activities and significant new projects across several office locations, ensuring continuity and excellence in service delivery.
- Engage in a multifaceted role encompassing hands-on IT support, vendor management, hardware and software provisioning, as well as process improvement initiatives.
- Join a welcoming team environment that upholds open communication, cooperation, and ongoing training opportunities designed to facilitate your continued professional growth.
What you/'ll do
In the capacity of IT Operations Delivery Manager, you will assume responsibility for facilitating the effective execution of technology-related initiatives across the organisation/'s offices. Your remit will encompass a blend of operational duties—such as managing hardware procurement cycles, monitoring software licensing compliance, processing warranty claims—and involvement in project-based assignments like supporting infrastructure upgrades or cyber security improvements. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to maintain accurate intranet content and provide indispensable audio-visual assistance during meetings. Vendor liaison will be paramount as you coordinate with service providers regarding repairs or invoice reconciliation. Your meticulous attention will be evident in maintaining comprehensive records of equipment across various sites while overseeing access permissions. Success in this role is predicated upon your ability to anticipate organisational needs proactively, communicate effectively at all levels, and deliver reliable support that underpins uninterrupted business operations.
- Coordinate the establishment of IT infrastructure for new office spaces and expansions, including oversight of internet connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and firewall installations to ensure reliable access for all staff from inception.
- Assist with infrastructure projects such as Microsoft E5 deployments and cyber security enhancements by collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to achieve successful outcomes.
- Maintain and update the company intranet in conjunction with internal stakeholders and external developers, ensuring information remains current and readily accessible.
- Oversee procurement processes, inventory management, and allocation of IT equipment—including laptops, keyboards, headsets—so that resources are available as required.
- Monitor software licences for applications such as Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Cloud, reallocating them efficiently in response to organisational changes.
- Process warranty claims for defective hardware and coordinate prompt repairs with vendors to minimise operational disruption for end users.
- Monitor alerts from third-party security operations centres, coordinating investigations or resolutions as necessary to uphold system integrity.
- Raise and track printer faults with service providers such as Ricoh, HP, or Canon to ensure minimal interruption to daily business activities.
- Provide fundamental support for audio-visual equipment in meeting rooms and digital signboards so that meetings proceed without technical impediment.
- Support SharePoint folder access provisioning according to team requirements while streamlining equipment return procedures for departing employees.
What you bring
To excel as an IT Operations Manager, it is anticipated that you possess practical experience in IT administration, support and delivery within Financial Services. Your ability to manage competing priorities—whether engaging with vendors or responding promptly to technical queries—will distinguish you. In addition to your technical proficiency, your interpersonal acumen enables you to foster trust among colleagues who depend on your guidance. Your methodical nature ensures thorough documentation—from asset tracking across multiple locations to precise invoice reconciliation—while your willingness to impart knowledge contributes positively towards continuous improvement initiatives. Above all else, your sense of responsibility ensures you act with unwavering integrity at all times, cultivating an atmosphere where every individual feels supported.
- Previous experience in IT support, systems administration or technology operations within Financial Services is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple vendors while managing procurement cycles for both hardware and software assets.
- Intermediate knowledge of hardware/software provisioning processes along with familiarity using asset management tools is beneficial.
- Comfortable diagnosing basic technical faults and providing troubleshooting assistance for common issues encountered by end users.
- Experience working within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem—including SharePoint—and handling user access permissions is advantageous.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy under pressure during peak periods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that enable you to share relevant information clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- A collaborative approach that fosters positive relationships within teams as well as with external partners or service providers.
- Attention to detail when maintaining logs of equipment inventory or reconciling invoices ensures nothing slips through the cracks.
- A commitment to upholding confidentiality standards while acting in the best interests of clients, business partners, and the wider community.
