Gordon Brothers Industries (GBI) is the largest Industrial Refrigeration Company in Australia, with offices across mainland states. We provide complete refrigeration solutions including design, construction, and servicing for sectors such as mining, chemical, food, and beverage.

GBI has joined the JCI family. As we grow, we are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our team.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate Graduate Engineer to join our office located in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

- Perform engineering calculations and designs for refrigeration solutions
- Prepare estimates and tender submissions for projects
- Evaluate and modify existing refrigeration systems for clients
- Market GBI’s services, including consulting, maintenance, and parts supply, with a focus on customer support
- Manage projects, negotiate with suppliers, coordinate designs and procurement, and oversee project administration
- Monitor project costs to ensure successful completion
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Develop knowledge of Australian and international standards
- Draft small projects using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or hand sketches
- Perform safety and engineering audits on-site and compile reports
- Contribute to improving internal systems for engineering and project management
- Handle administrative duties related to engineering operations
- Supervise and assist with commissioning new plants
- Assist in delivering training to technical staff
- Support the service department with engineering and contracting tasks
- Ensure health and safety at the workplace and cooperate with management on safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor

The Successful Applicant will have:

- A minimum of a B.Eng. in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering
- At least 5 years of industrial refrigeration experience post-graduation
- Ability to interpret drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently
- Willingness to learn and collaborate with various professionals
- A current valid driver’s license

Working alongside experienced engineers, your duties will include:

- Supporting the delivery of GBI’s services to clients
- Providing excellent customer satisfaction
- Developing expertise in GBI’s systems
- Proactively addressing potential issues
- Maintaining a professional appearance and representing GBI
