St Joseph’s Nudgee College is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Athletic Performance Coach to join our Sport Department in a full-time continuing role, commencing January 2026. Working closely with the Athletic Development Director, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality athletic performance programs that empower students to reach their full potential. The 1st XV Rugby and 1st VIII Rowing programs will be part of the key responsibilities for this role. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of athletes through evidence-based coaching, cutting edge sport science, innovation, and holistic development.
As the Lead Athletic Performance Coach, you will:
- Design and deliver strength, power, speed, and conditioning programs across multiple sports
- Oversee the performance and development of student athletes, ensuring safe and effective training practices
- Collaborate with coaches, medical staff, and external partners to support performance outcomes
- Lead and mentor other coaching staff, ensuring program consistency and excellence
- Promote the College’s sporting culture and values within the community
- Contribute to the operation and management of the College’s Athletic Development facilities
You will come with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science or a related field
- ASCA Level Two qualification with Pro-Scheme accreditation
- 3–5 years’ experience in athletic development or performance coaching
and have:
- Strong knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and program design
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire others
- A genuine passion for youth athletic development and wellbeing
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or eligibility to obtain
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and valid driver’s licence
