McCosker Contracting have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team. This position is based at our Head Office in Gladstone, Queensland.

- Immediate start

This position will assist the accounting team with the financial and project accounting and providing additional support for the payroll and accounts payable functions as directed. This position will ensure transactional accounting activities are regularly updated to ensure the general ledger and sub ledgers are complete and accurate.

To be successful you will have:

- Degree in commerce, finance, accounting or business or studying towards (desirable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts, payroll, or accounting
- Knowledge of accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and associated practices
- Experience in managing and applying finance, accounts and/or payroll processes
- Able to liaise, mediate and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience providing guidance to operational personnel in accounts and payroll practices
- Knowledge of the civil construction industry (desirable)
- Able to develop, implement, and evaluate high quality programs
- Experience in MS Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems such as Viewpoint Vista or similar (intermediate)
