This is a residential role based in the Parkes region, working a consistent 7:7 roster with 12‑hour shifts—giving you the balance to enjoy life outside of work while contributing to a high‑performing underground maintenance team. As part of Evolution Mining, you’ll be working hands‑on with heavy mobile equipment in a well‑supported environment that values safety, quality, and teamwork. About the role
Step into a hands‑on role within our Asset Management Department, where you’ll be part of a skilled and supportive Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) team. Working in our fully equipped underground workshops, you’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet running strong performing planned maintenance, tackling breakdowns, and conducting detailed inspections across both Production and Development areas. Your work will directly contribute to safe, efficient operations and help us maintain our commitment to Zero Harm.
You’ll be the go‑to expert for high‑quality repairs and diagnostics, ensuring every job meets best practice standards. From using our work management systems to track repairs and materials, to collaborating with team leaders and planners on maintenance schedules, your attention to detail will keep everything running smoothly. You’ll also carry out quarterly and heavy vehicle inspections, maintain top‑tier housekeeping standards, and ensure all tasks align with site safety protocols. This is a role where your technical skills and safety‑first mindset truly make a difference.
About you
- You’re based in Parkes, Forbes, or nearby—or ready to relocate and be part of a thriving mining community.
- You bring at least three years of post‑trade experience in mining or heavy industry, with a qualified Auto Electrician trade and a current Automotive Air‑Conditioning Licence.
- You’ve got solid experience diagnosing and troubleshooting underground mobile equipment, and you’re confident using OEM documentation and diagnostic tools.
- You’re organised, a clear communicator, and committed to mentoring others while maintaining high safety standards.
- You hold a current “C” Class Australian Driver’s Licence
