The formation of the UNITE Data Engineering Team is to shape the data transformation of a once-in-a-generation program. What’s the role?

We’re a team of passionate engineers and technologists on a multi-year mission to transform our core customer technology stack. As an Informatica Engineer, you’ll play a key role in simplifying, modernising, and scaling our systems to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We embrace collaboration, new technologies, and agile ways of working—come help shape the future of our tech landscape.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Informatica applications to ensure system stability and performance.
- Apply systems expertise to deliver high-quality solutions to the business.
- Provide technical and domain consultation to improve solution robustness and support application systems.
- Contribute to cost estimation during design and development phases with architects, BAs, PMs, SMEs, and solution providers.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders in a complex project environment.
- Ensure compliance with Westpac’s standards and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

- Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on Software Engineering.
- Strong experience in systems development, support, and maintenance.
- Expertise in Informatica PowerCenter and related tools, including ETL design, development, and performance tuning.
- Solid knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, and proficiency in SQL/PLSQL.
- Experience in systems integration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with version control tools like Git and Bitbucket.
