About the Role

This contract opportunity for a Platform Engineer offers the chance to work on a high-profile project within the banking and financial services sector.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading and supporting initiatives around data governance and classification frameworks.
  • Implementing and maintaining data access policies to ensure secure and compliant data usage.
  • Collaborating with data stewards, compliance teams, and business units to define and enforce data standards.
  • Designing and developing scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows to support analytics and operational needs.
  • Deploying and managing secure, scalable data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems.
  • Supporting data discovery, cataloguing, and documentation efforts.
  • Troubleshooting and optimising data pipelines for performance and reliability.
  • Working with modern data engineering tools including Snowflake, Databricks, and Informatica.

The Successful Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:

  • Relevant credentials and qualifications in data engineering or a related field.
  • Several years' experience in cloud ecosystems and data governance.
  • Hands-on expertise in ETL development, data modelling, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and data governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica) is highly desirable.
  • Prior exposure to the banking or financial services sector is a strong advantage.
  • Passion for technology and data, with a diligent and hard-working approach.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and compliant data solutions.
