Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Consumer Peer Support Workers to join the Mental Health Division HOPE team located at Pascoe Vale South.

We are the major provider of acute, maternity, sub‑acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

About the Role

We have an opening available and we are looking for an enthusiastic Consumer Peer Support Worker Level 2, Year 2-4 (MP33 - MP35) Part time ongoing 32hrs a fortnight, to join the HOPE Program within Northern Health Mental Health Division located at Pascoe Vale South.

The Hospital Outreach Post Suicide Program (HOPE) is a multidisciplinary team of Clinicians, Psycho‑social Support Workers and Carer/ Consumer Peer Support Workers and Consultant Psychiatrist.

HOPE program collaboratively delivers up to 12 weeks practical support and evidence based therapeutic interventions to address the unique social, economic, historical and environmental factors that have contributed to, or continue to contribute to, a consumer’s suicidality.
