We have an exciting opportunity at our Taren Point office for a motivated and driven Senior Solar Project Engineer.

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the growth of our Solar business. The ideal candidate is a driven solar professional eager to work in a collaborative environment. Our team challenges and supports you to achieve success and job satisfaction. High standards and quality workmanship for all installations are essential. The successful applicant will liaise with project managers, estimators, and sales teams to design optimal systems for our customers.

Responsibilities

- Create approval, IFC, and as-built drawings for systems between 50kW – 2MW.
- Evaluate interval data to suggest engineering solutions to reduce energy consumption.
- Calculate energy output and perform technical analysis for proposed solutions.
- Conduct shading analysis for solar systems.
- Prepare grid applications and liaise with DNSP for approvals.
- Prepare work orders and BOQs for awarded projects.
- Coordinate with structural engineers for design approval.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Research new products and solutions to stay industry-relevant.
- Liaise with suppliers and installers for technical clarifications.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop their potential.
- Support project management and delivery teams.
- Set team KPIs and distribute workloads.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Participate in supplier training and conferences.

Requirements

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp, MS Excel.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, SLDs, and electrical layouts.
- Strong design language skills.
- CEC accreditation.
- Familiarity with Australian Standards 3000, 4777, 5033.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Willingness to conduct site and structure inspections.
- Excellent communication skills.
