Quinquennial Visiting Medical Officer (until 30 June 2027)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position(s) in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located at Blacktown Hospital within the Department of Medical Imaging.

Applicants must have Australian Fellowship/Specialist Registration at the time of application

Essential Requirements for Appointment

1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCR or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.

2. Sound clinical knowledge in MRI, CT, US, FLUOROSCOPY AND GENERAL RADIOGRAPHY demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.

3. Most hold a current EPA license.

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.

3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:

- Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

- Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships.

- Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice.

- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality.

4. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.

5. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership.

6. Commitment to good governance, achieving results and managing risks.

7. Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
