About the Role
Are you a passionate community leader who thrives on creating positive change? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader Community Development to join our dynamic Community Services team.
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Community Services, you will lead a skilled and dedicated team to deliver programs and initiatives that bring the City of Ryde’s Community Strategic Plan to life. You will play a key role in driving innovative and evidence‑based community development projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet the goals of the Social Strategy and Creativity Strategy. This position also coordinates the design, implementation, and evaluation of community initiatives and externally funded grant programs—ensuring projects are inclusive, well‑managed, and deliver meaningful outcomes for the community.
Salary
Your commencing annual salary will range from $114,034.95 to $130,325.65 plus superannuation, dependent on your skills and experience.
About You
You are a strategic and people‑focused leader with demonstrated experience developing, implementing and evaluating community programs that deliver meaningful social and cultural outcomes. You bring a deep understanding of government and community sector structures and excel at building and maintaining strategic partnerships, fostering collaboration, and supporting community leadership. You empower individuals and groups through the provision of resources and the creation of strong, sustainable partnerships.
As a confident communicator, you have well‑developed written and verbal skills and are experienced in delivering presentations and facilitating groups. You bring proven leadership and supervisory experience to guide and motivate your team and are committed to achieving outcomes that strengthen the wellbeing and connectedness of the Ryde community.
A current Class C Driver Licence is required.
Key Requirements
- Qualifications in a relevant field including Social Sciences, Community Development or a related discipline
- High level demonstrated experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships and networks, an in-depth understanding of government and community sector structures, and an ability to support and foster community leadership
- Excellent written communication skills and report writing skills
- Experience developing policies, procedures and programs to support community development initiatives
- Demonstrated relevant experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of community programs that lead to successful social and/or cultural outcomes
