About Us
The Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) is an independent body exercising royal commission powers to detect, investigate and expose serious misconduct within the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) and the NSW Crime Commission (NSWCC). The Senior Aboriginal Engagement Officer is part of a small community engagement team within the Commission’s Prevention and Engagement team. The role is to engage and build relationships within Aboriginal communities, increase engagement with Aboriginal communities, and build organisational capacity to ensure access, equity and inclusion of Aboriginal people in a culturally appropriate way. The role may involve engaging people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and other vulnerable communities. A small case load of oversight investigations may be handled to maintain understanding of the Commission’s jurisdiction and functions. Travel for outreach across NSW (including overnight stays) may be required from time to time.
