Watchroom Operator

Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Watchroom Operator in our Fire and Rescue operations at Kapooka, Victoria. This role can be a career as a Watch Room operator working within the Emergency Services and Defence Industry or the first step into a career as a Firefighter.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain operational readiness in accordance with Ventia's policies and guidelines.
- Respond to fire incidents, support and communicate with the Incident Controller as required.
- Assist the Fire Station OIC with administrative duties related to operations.
- Participate in fire station training and development plans.

Mandatory Requirements:

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications in each of the five categories:

- PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury
- PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury (Superseded)
- PUAFIR201B Prevent Injury (Superseded)
- PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment
- PUAOPE013A Operate Communication Systems and Equipment (Superseded)
- PUATEA001 Work in a Team
- PUATEA001B Work in a Team (Superseded)
- PUACOM001 Communicate in the Workplace
- PUACOM001C Communicate in the Workplace (Superseded)
- PUATEA002 Work Autonomously
- PUATEA002B Work Autonomously (Superseded)

Highly Desirable:

- Experience in a communications room environment.

Other Requirements:

- Strong team orientation.
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1.
- Australian Citizenship is required.
