Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Watchroom Operator in our Fire and Rescue operations at Kapooka, Victoria. This role can be a career as a Watch Room operator working within the Emergency Services and Defence Industry or the first step into a career as a Firefighter.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain operational readiness in accordance with Ventia's policies and guidelines.
  • Respond to fire incidents, support and communicate with the Incident Controller as required.
  • Assist the Fire Station OIC with administrative duties related to operations.
  • Participate in fire station training and development plans.

Mandatory Requirements:

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications in each of the five categories:

  • PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury
  • PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury (Superseded)
  • PUAFIR201B Prevent Injury (Superseded)
  • PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment
  • PUAOPE013A Operate Communication Systems and Equipment (Superseded)
  • PUATEA001 Work in a Team
  • PUATEA001B Work in a Team (Superseded)
  • PUACOM001 Communicate in the Workplace
  • PUACOM001C Communicate in the Workplace (Superseded)
  • PUATEA002 Work Autonomously
  • PUATEA002B Work Autonomously (Superseded)

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience in a communications room environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong team orientation.
  • Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1.
  • Australian Citizenship is required.
