Filipac/Kartidge Pak Machine Operators Wanted

Due to increasing demand, Orica’s Kalgoorlie Package plant is requiring Filipac or Kartridge Pak machine operators to assist with business expansion.

You will be responsible for the ongoing execution of safe and efficient manufacture & logistics associated with Packaged Explosives.

Working within a small yet dedicated team at the Kalgoorlie Explosive Reserve you will be required to obtain and maintain the identified key skills in the manufacturing plant to effectively operate plant equipment and machines.

This opportunity is residential to Kalgoorlie, so therefore all interested candidates must have their own accommodation as FIFO is not on offer.

The roster for this role is a Monday – Friday roster, however the occasional Saturday shift required.

What you will be doing

- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained throughout the plant and that machinery and equipment is kept in a safe operational condition.
- Participate and support the continuous improvement systems for safety.
- Ensure all work is completed under appropriate Risk Assessments & PTW.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained correctly and any defects are reported and followed up on.
- Optimise stock levels – Ensuring correct Stock Rotations are in Place and Stock-takes are completed on all raw materials.
- Ensure all Quality policies and procedures are followed, implemented and adhered to at site.
- Develop working relationships with Plant Team Leaders, Plant Operators, Distribution and Site Management Team.
- Provide cross functional support between Amex & PE Plants.

What you will bring

- Operational experience within a Manufacturing Environment.
- Forklift Licence (Desirable).
- Sound knowledge of the Manufacturing Process.
- Previous experience operating Filipac or Kartridge Pak machines
- Good understanding of quality systems.
- Some exposure to SAP is advantageous.
- Provide constructive and open communication across a variety of Organisational Structures.
