About the job
This Allied Health Assistant traineeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance while getting hands-on experience. Under the supervision of Allied Health professionals and support staff, you will assist the team with clinical and non-clinical tasks. This may include clinical one-to-one sessions, group sessions, setting up for treatment sessions, and maintaining clinic areas. The Allied Health team will provide you with dedicated support and time to complete your Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.
You will have unique learning opportunities to explore various Allied Health career paths within Hunter New England Health. This traineeship is ideal for recent school leavers looking to gain a valuable qualification in a health-related field.

Join a skilled team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers and Psychologists, dedicated to providing excellent patient care. As part of the Children, Young People and Families Service (CYPFS), for your two-year traineeship, you’ll be embraced by a friendly, collaborative atmosphere working alongside many different Allied Health Professionals. You’ll have supervision and support provided by the CYPFS Allied Health team, who are very eager to help you learn and grow as a professional during your traineeship.

- Currently at school, or a recent school leaver, eager to start a career in health.
- Motivated and enthusiastic about learning new skills.
- Eager to learn about and help improve the health outcomes for children, young people and their families.
- Keen to work as part of a team supporting the community.
- Be able to communicate respectfully and build rapport easily with people.
Requirements
- Need to have completed year 10 at a minimum
- Applicants need to have finished school within the last 12 months
