Overview
Airservices Australia is undergoing a bold transformation to meet the evolving needs of the aviation industry. Over the next decade, our services, systems, and processes will be reshaped to support a safer, more efficient airspace. At the heart of this change is the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO)—a centre of excellence supporting the delivery of high-value, high-risk programs such as WSIA and OneSKY.
We’re seeking a seasoned leader in project controls and scheduling to take on a critical role in driving structure, discipline, and strategic insight across our transformation portfolio.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Make a national impact – Contribute to projects that shape the future of Australian aviation.
- Bring clarity to complexity – Lead the charge in embedding control disciplines in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Be the expert – Your deep scheduling and control experience will be the foundation for enterprise-wide change.
- Influence at the highest level – Be a trusted advisor to senior leaders and decision-makers.
- Grow with purpose – Join a team where your expertise drives real transformation and long-term value.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a specialised team of master schedulers and project controllers.
- Establish and govern Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
- Drive scope, change, and dependency management across portfolios.
- Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors to ensure delivery excellence.
- Provide strategic insights and data-driven reporting to senior leadership.
- Champion a control mindset across the organisation, uplifting capability and consistency in project delivery.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience in project control and scheduling. This is not a general project management role—deep expertise in control disciplines is a must.
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years in program controls, scheduling, or integration leadership roles.
- Proven ability to develop and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in complex environments.
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM), control frameworks, and dependency management.
- Familiarity with PMBoK, Agile PM, MSP methodologies.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE PSPS) is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical capability to deliver meaningful insights.
Why This Role Matters
This is more than a leadership role — it’s a chance to drive fundamental change in how Airservices delivers complex programs. You’ll help shape a more disciplined, structured, and high-performing environment, with direct exposure to some of the most significant aviation projects in Australia.
Security Clearance
To be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian Citizen or a Permanent resident as an Airservices Background check is required for this role. Please refer to the security check requirements. Successful applicants will be required to undertake this as part of the recruitment process.
