The School

Parkwood Primary School (PS) is a vibrant and inclusive learning community located at the eastern end of the Fremantle‑Pell Education District. Established in 1975, the school shares its boundary with Lynwood Senior High School, fostering cross‑school collaboration. With approximately 620 kindergarten to Year 6 students, including 100 in the Intensive English Centre, the school provides high‑quality facilities and a dynamic learning environment.

The Role

This role requires a teacher who embraces contemporary pedagogical approaches aligned with the Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact framework. Teachers are expected to embed strategies from the Berry Street Education Model throughout their practice.

Responsibilities

- Model equity and excellence in all aspects of teaching.

- Promote student engagement in a whole‑school physical and health education program.

- Provide opportunities for students to showcase strengths through intra‑ and inter‑school sports, extracurricular activities and celebrations of success.

- Contribute to raising the specialist area within the school.

- Work with students from EALD backgrounds (experience preferred but not required).

Qualifications

- Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit.

- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before commencement.
