About the role

Mater Mother’s Hospital is offering an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist an opportunity to join on a Part-Time basis for 12 months. The role is based at Mater’s South Brisbane campus, providing access to clinical services, education and research facilities.

This part-time role includes work within Mater’s private practice model and our busy high risk maternity service. There is potential to establish a private O&G practice at Mater, with options to operate solo or join private practice groups.

Mater Mothers is Australia’s largest women’s health facility and provider of public-funded women’s healthcare in Queensland, as well as the country’s biggest private maternity service. The role involves care for both public obstetric and gynaecology patients and privately funded women through Mater’s low risk private maternity care model. The successful candidate will be supported to transition to their own private practice at Mater in the future.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with medical, midwifery, allied health and non-clinician colleagues to deliver consistent, evidence-based, high-value healthcare. Specialists are involved in teaching residents and registrars and in activities to measure and improve healthcare service delivery, including inter-disciplinary education, simulation, clinical audit, safety and quality activities and research.

Mater is recognised for exceptional women’s healthcare in Queensland and internationally for clinical care, research, education and simulation. More than one in five Queenslanders are born at a Mater Mothers Hospital each year.

- Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- RANZCOG (or equivalent)
