This role is advertised by Volunteer West, the volunteer resource centre of Australian Multicultural Community Services on behalf of Lions Club of Altona.
The Lions Club of Altona Inc is a local service club that organises and manages a monthly community market in Altona. The market brings together stallholders from various backgrounds, including local traders and community groups, and provides an inclusive, welcoming environment for all. As a volunteer-run organisation, Lions Club members live by the motto “We Serve.”
Volunteers will support the smooth running of the monthly Altona Community Market at Cherry Lake, assisting with preparation, set-up, stallholder support, BBQ, and pack-up. Tasks are simple but require teamwork and reliability. Training and on-site orientation will be provided.
Location:
Cherry Lake, Millers Road Altona VIC
Skills required:
- Willingness to assist with physical tasks such as line marking, moving equipment, or pack-up
- Teamwork and communication
- Reliability and punctuality
Time required:
Saturday before the market:
- 9.00am – 10.30am (line marking stalls)
- 7.00am – 8.30am – 2 volunteers for stallholder parking
Commitment required:
- First Sunday of each month, starting Sunday 5 October 2025. Flexible – volunteers may commit to one or more shifts.
Other requirements:
- Volunteers under 18 welcome if accompanied/supported by adult(s)
