Position Overview The Youth Mental Health Professional (YMHP) will play a crucial role within the headspace Broome team. This position will be on a Full-time Fixed term Contract ending in June 2026. This role will focus on mental health services for young individuals aged 12 to 25 years. The YMHP will provide friendly, youth-centred support for those facing mental health challenges, ensuring that services are accessible and tailored to the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth. Key responsibilities include conducting initial screenings, providing evidence-based assessments, delivering therapeutic interventions, and coordinating care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will also engage with families to promote their involvement in the care process and deliver educational initiatives to enhance community awareness. Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for youth mental health and a commitment to cultural sensitivity. - Possess a current “C” class driver’s licence and National Police Clearance. - Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy. - Demonstrate experience in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people. - Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds. - Display excellent organisational skills and proficiency in documentation and reporting. Your ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and advocate for the needs of young people will be key to your success in this role. Salary & Benefits This position offers a competitive salary of $103,409, along with additional benefits including: - Accommodation Allowance of $13,000 p.a pro rata - Electricity Allowance of $1,440 p.a pro rata - District Allowance of $2,920 (single) or $5,840 (double) - Salary packaging options up to $30,000 per annum.
