Position Information

Ambarvale High School is a comprehensive Years 7-12 school with an enrolment of 803 students, including 69 students in our Support Unit. The school has 35% of students from non-English speaking backgrounds and 12.4% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school focuses on preparing students for the 21st Century with innovative programs that promote creative thinking, problem solving and student-based learning. In 2018, the school was named by The Educator as one of the top 40 innovative schools in Australia. The school emphasises engagement with the community and partnerships with educational and other agencies.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and approval to teach Food Technology. Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver quality differentiated teaching and learning programs for diverse learners.

- Demonstrated capacity to work as an effective team member of a diverse faculty and a commitment to whole-school programs.

- Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and to manage practical workspaces to create a safe, engaging, inclusive classroom environment with high expectations.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

Applicants seeking either permanent full-time or permanent part-time employment are encouraged to apply. If the recommended applicant seeks permanent part-time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
