The Role
Join ABC's Audio On Demand team to work on The Case Of, one of the ABC’s most popular shows. We are looking for a Supervising Producer with a strong understanding of editorial and legal policies relating to court reporting, and an ability to take a gripping story and bring it to life for an audio audience. This role will be part of a small Melbourne-based team, and combine production planning with all stages of researching, writing, producing and editing episodes.
The Job
- Coordinate and produce podcast episode to publishing deadlines
- Research, investigate, prepare, compile, and produce new podcast and digital at a senior level with a high level of independence.
- Mentor creative contributors, providing editorial and production guidance.
You will bring a creative approach to content making including highly advanced script writing and editing skills.
Your skills and experience will include:
- Ability to coordinate, plan and execute production requirements for a podcast publishing multiple episodes a week.
- Advanced understanding of online audiences, international podcast distribution trends and social media strategies.
- Experience working in a newsroom, preferably on courts or crime rounds, and evidence of an understanding of the legal requirements when covering criminal trials.
- Evidence of substantial editorial judgement with a thorough understanding of the ABC Editorial Policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to lead a small team.
