We are seeking a Head of Engineering to lead our aircraft maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Essential Qualifications & Experience:

- Proven management and leadership experience in an aircraft engineering and maintenance facility. Experience leading a CASA Part 145 organisation is preferred.

- Must meet CASA 'Fit and Proper Person' criteria and hold the necessary qualifications for Key Personnel Airworthiness responsibilities under CAR 30 and Part 145.

- Experience managing aircraft maintenance in a similar-sized organisation.

- Deep knowledge of CASA regulations and aviation safety standards relevant to CAR 30, Part 42, and Part 145.

- Strong leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to manage complex operations and lead strategic initiatives.

About the role

You will oversee all engineering functions related to aircraft maintenance, ensuring compliance with manufacturer requirements, CASA regulations, and RFDS procedures. The role involves developing and promoting a safety culture, maintaining a positive public image, and leading the transition to a Part 42/Part 145 organisation.

- Develop and implement departmental strategy aligned with RFDS mission.

Safety & Compliance

- Champion a proactive safety culture.

- Ensure compliance with safety management systems and legislation.

- Coordinate with CASA and oversee audits and surveillance.

Technical Oversight

- Manage aircraft maintenance planning and execution.

- Oversee maintenance support functions.

- Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders.

Regulatory Responsibilities

- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Civil Aviation Regulations.

- Liaise with CASA Airworthiness Inspectors and monitor surveillance activities.

- Oversee Airworthiness administration and maintenance planning.
