About the role:

The Connect Coordinator works as part of the Connect team that delivers Victorian Government Funded programs. They will support the team operationally to develop and implement a diverse range of interesting and innovative health and wellbeing, capacity building, and peer support initiatives with a digital focus.

They will also be responsible for forging connections and alliances with industry networks and target audiences, including people with chronic or mental illness, people experiencing isolation, and carers to provide programs, support opportunities, information, and referral to services.

Key responsibilities

- Able to use digital technology effectively to undertake tasks, deliver and report on outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to initiate and maintain contacts with a broad range of stakeholders, including target cohorts and industry networks.
- Understanding of marketing and communication or a willingness to learn.
- Able to motivate, influence and mentor others to achieve business initiatives.
- Possesses diverse problem-solving skills and a high degree of original and innovative thinking.
- Has awareness and appreciation of current prevailing philosophies and trends in the area of health and wellbeing and community support.
- Has knowledge and capability of coordinating all aspects of program delivery including community engagement.
- Confident and engaging public speaker.
- Has sound computer skills including Microsoft office products and communications skills.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as a part of a high performing team.
- Is punctual, flexible and reliable with an understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.

Qualifications & Experience

- Tertiary or post-secondary qualifications in, public health, community services, human services or other relevant discipline (or working towards this qualification).
- Experience in marketing and promoting health and wellbeing.
- Desirable – IUHPE Registered Health Promotion Practitioner or working towards registration. Experience working with community or peer support groups. Qualifications in marketing or communications.
