Fleet & Facilities Manager (Transit Systems Victoria Pty Ltd)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fleet & Facilities Manager to lead our workshop, facilities, and asset presentation functions.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and safety across our fleet, depots, and maintenance operations.

A key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive best practice standards, ensure effective resource management, and lead a team committed to safety, efficiency, and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Management

- Oversee all workshop functions including planning, workflow, and records management.
- Ensure best practice safety standards and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Manage stock levels, procurement processes, and fuel management.
- Monitor budget performance and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
- Maintain adherence to the Business Management System (BMS).

Asset Presentation

- Manage bus cleaning, detailing, and washing schedules to ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest presentation standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure services are delivered on budget.

Facilities & Maintenance

- Oversee depot presentation, facilities management, and maintenance.
- Lead procurement and contractor management activities to achieve cost-effective outcomes.
- Ensure facilities are safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.

Leadership & People Management

- Coach, mentor, and develop an engaged, high-performance team.
- Drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of Workshop, Asset, and Facilities staff.
- Monitor and manage key KPIs including productivity, absenteeism, turnover, leave management, and HSEQ compliance.
- Provide timely and professional feedback to drivers and staff regarding performance, incidents, and achievements.

About You

We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative leader with the ability to balance strategic oversight and hands-on management. To succeed, you will bring:

- - Proven experience in fleet, facilities, & workshop management (public transport industry experience highly regarded).

- Relevant qualifications including Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

- Strong knowledge of compliance, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and procurement processes.

- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build, mentor, and empower teams.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to driving improvements.
