Bendigo, Australia Upanup Full time

Help shape how communities access essential information.

Upanup is looking for a content-focused team member with 2–4 years of experience working on websites or digital platforms. This early-career role is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, tech-comfortable, and excited to work hands-on with content — editing, formatting, migrating, and helping shape how information is structured and presented across client websites.

As a digital solutions provider for local governments and utilities, we build smart, user-friendly platforms that improve access to essential information. In this role, you’ll help plan and refine content structures, improve site navigation, and ensure that important information is clear, consistent, and easy to find. You'll be part of a collaborative, supportive team where your work makes a real difference in how people interact with their communities online.

Job Description

As a Web Content Specialist at Upanup, you will assist with the following tasks:

- Migrate and format website content in an organized and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand user journeys and shape effective content strategies, including information architecture planning.
- Provide clear, professional editing and copywriting tailored to a range of audiences and platforms.
- Lead and support training sessions to help clients create and manage digital content confidently.
- Conduct and present findings from content strategy activities like card sorting and tree testing.
- Develop and share key project deliverables such as sitemaps, content audits, governance guides, migration plans, and content models.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers, developers, and strategists to ensure cohesive, user-focused solutions.
- Report to Upanup’s User Experience Director, who will guide task priorities and project direction.

Requirements

- This is an early-career role, suitable for someone looking to grow their skills across a range of content tasks.
- Previous experience working with websites or digital content (2–4 years) required.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, writing, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with content strategy tasks such as content audits and sitemap planning.
- Familiarity with content management systems like Drupal or WordPress.
- Strong skills in organizing, writing, editing, and formatting content for digital platforms.
- Bonus points for accessibility knowledge and any agency or freelance experience.

What You Can Expect

- A permanent, full-time position with a starting salary of $55,000 to $60,000, based on your experience.
- Three weeks of paid vacation, plus a comprehensive health benefits package starting after three months.
- A supportive hybrid work model: during your first three months, you'll work on-site full-time to get fully onboarded. After that, you’ll join our hybrid framework, which currently includes working in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays at minimum.

To apply, please fill out the form below to submit your resume and a personalized cover letter that includes:

- A link to examples of your live content work
