Position Information

Ramsgate Public School serves a culturally diverse community of around 460 students, including 63% EAL/D learners and 2.8% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The school community is inclusive and strongly connected, supported by an active P&C and community partnerships through after‑school programs, an onsite OOSH service, and a weekly organic market. Located in Ramsgate Beach, the school is recognised for its commitment to academic excellence and positive relationships. Staff focus on explicit teaching and restorative practices to strengthen learning and wellbeing. Improvements in NAPLAN and Check‑in assessments, particularly in writing, reflect the impact of these approaches. Proactive, student‑centred systems promote positive behaviour, a growth mindset, and successful learner dispositions. In its 2024 External Validation, the school was validated as Excelling or Sustaining and Growing across all School Excellence Framework elements. - Proven capacity to lead the implementation and achievement of the School Excellence Plan, with a focus on reflective, evidence informed, evaluative practices to improve the learning and well‑being outcomes for all students, in alignment with the NSW Plan for Public Education.

- Demonstrated strength in instructional leadership, building the capability and collective efficacy of all staff through a culture of collaboration and high impact professional learning resulting in sustained and measurable whole school improvement.

General Selection Criteria

- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.

- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department’s Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
