About the Position

Our client is seeking a seasoned Special Counsel – Property & Commercial to take on a pivotal leadership role within their Queensland practice. Based in the Gold Coast, you will drive complex and high-value transactions while mentoring a talented team of junior lawyers.

This role spans a diverse practice mix, including:

- Property law – acting on major acquisitions, developments, leasing, and sales
- Commercial contracts – drafting and negotiating shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and supplier arrangements
- Business advisory – advising SMEs and corporates on asset protection and business structuring
- Mergers & acquisitions – managing transactions including due diligence and deal structuring
- Property finance – advising on mortgage arrangements, lending structures and securities

Key Requirements

- Minimum 8 years’ PAE in property and commercial law (private practice preferred)
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage files autonomously and drive team performance
- Commercial acumen and the ability to foster strong client relationships
- Experience mentoring junior lawyers
- Desire to contribute to firm growth and strategic development
