About the position
The Senior Grants Advisor will lead the development, submission and administration processes for Category 1 grant schemes. They will be a subject matter expert on category 1 schemes, especially NHMRC schemes. They will provide expertise and guidance to other members of the grants team and will be instrumental in maintaining and developing close working relationships with Associate Deans Research and Industry Engagement (ADRIE).
They will work with ADRIEs across all Schools to effectively identify and engage researchers who are eligible to apply for Category 1 grants in the University’s Grants Development Support Program. They will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective support program for category 1 grants that includes fellowships from across government, philanthropic and Industry and lead the grants team through compliance and eligibility for all schemes.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- A relevant postgraduate degree, extensive professional experience or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience in research administration.
- Demonstrated track record in working with researchers to develop successful category 1 schemes, with experience in NHMRC schemes.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with a range of Australian competitive grant schemes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to transfer clear and concise information to stakeholders, and the ability to present workshops or facilitate discussion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high level working relationships and professional networks, and to engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
