About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Practitioner Project Manager to join our AUKUS delivery team in Flinders Street, South Australia.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager for Transfer of Technology (SPM), this role will be responsible for assisting the SPM in ensuring the cost, schedule, and technical goals associated with the assigned project, are achieved in accordance with the contractual and company requirements, in order to deliver required business goals.
The role will be responsible (with support from the SPM) for the planning and delivery of straightforward, small projects, as well as larger, more crucial components of the program. This role will assist the SPM in maintaining the execution of the project through adherence to the agreed cost, schedule and quality constraints whilst managing the risks and opportunities that arise.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the SPM in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets through the use of scheduling tools and principles of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Assist the SPM in ensuring project plans are executed in accordance with agreed budgets and timelines, using appropriate tools to track progress and analyse project performance.
- Support the SPM in monitoring the progress of the project against the expected schedule and budget, reporting any delays or issues to the SPM, and recommending possible corrective measures.
- Work amongst project teams to identify and assist in resolving any disruptions that may arise during the execution of the project, including integration across the four control accounts (teams) the SPM will be supporting.
- Support the SPM in routine Project reviews such as Contract Status Reports, the Project Performance Review (PPR) and the SCAM review.
- Assist the SPM in managing the accountability of Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
- Support the SPM in developing Baseline Change Requests.
- Assist in providing forward planning (QLA) to identify requirements or emerging issues.
- Demonstrate strong data literacy by using tools such as Microsoft Excel or Tableau
About YOU
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly the planning and delivery of project outcomes within a moderately complex project environment.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) along with scheduling principles and tools.
- Ability to engage in collaborative work alongside clients and cross‑functional project teams and build strong customer relationships.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of Oracle ERP, Cobra, and Primavera would be highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- NV1 Defence Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
