Engineering Manager – PHP & Java Teams

My client – a Real‑Time Payments solutions provider – is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their PHP and Java teams, driving innovation, delivery, and excellence across a rapidly scaling product platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead and inspire talented PHP & Java developers, mentoring and growing high‑performing teams.

- Own the roadmap delivery — from planning and execution to deployment and post‑release support.

- Shape architecture and best practices across PHP and Java systems while keeping quality, security, and scalability top of mind.

- Collaborate across functions with product, QA, DevOps, and security to accelerate delivery and impact.

- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and team performance.

What You’ll Bring

- Proven experience leading multiple engineering squads (on & off‑shore)

- Hands‑on coding experience with PHP frameworks and Java/Spring Boot.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms.

- Strong understanding of web architectures, APIs, and enterprise integrations.

- Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.

- A collaborative, problem‑solving mindset with a passion for scaling teams and products.
