About the Roles
We are currently looking for 2 x Pastoral Support Leader / Secondary Teacher roles (Years 7 & 8 and Years 9 & 10). The Pastoral Support Leader is allocated 0.3 FTE to lead and coordinate pastoral care initiatives for students, with the remaining time comprising a blend of teaching and non-teaching responsibilities aligned with School needs. The role exists to champion student wellbeing, engagement and personal growth, ensuring that each student’s social, emotional and academic needs are recognised and supported.
Working collaboratively with the Assistant Head of Campus (Student Experience), teaching staff and the wellbeing team, the Pastoral Support Leader helps to foster a safe, inclusive and empowering environment where students develop confidence, self-awareness and the resilience needed to thrive within and beyond school.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will:
Pastoral Leadership
- Demonstrate experience in student wellbeing or pastoral care within a secondary or senior school setting.
- Build strong, authentic relationships with young people, fostering connection, respect and a sense of belonging.
- Respond to student needs with empathy, professionalism and sound judgment, including early intervention and referral as appropriate.
- Remain calm, thoughtful and solutions-focused when supporting students through sensitive or complex situations.
- Work collaboratively with wellbeing teams, educators and families to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to student care.
Teaching & Learning
- Demonstrate strong classroom teaching practice, grounded in inclusive, student-centred pedagogy.
- Design and deliver engaging learning experiences that promote agency, curiosity and meaningful participation.
- Use assessment and feedback intentionally to monitor progress and support differentiated pathways for learners.
- Create a safe, respectful and responsive learning environment that considers the academic and emotional needs of students.
- Engage in reflective practice, professional growth and collaborative planning in alignment with whole-school wellbeing and learning goals.
