Are you a capable family lawyer ready to take the next step into a leadership role? This boutique firm has grown rapidly over the last two years and is now looking for a confident mid-level practitioner to join the team ahead of a major period of expansion.

This position offers rare exposure: genuine autonomy, full carriage of your matters, mentorship over two junior lawyers, and the opportunity to influence the direction of the practice as it continues to scale.

The team is small, warm, and collaborative, with a strong client base and steady pipeline of private family law matters. You’ll work directly with the Director and enjoy a high level of flexibility, trust, and control over your practice.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage your own caseload of private family law matters focused on parenting and property

- Mentor and develop high performing junior lawyers

- Provide guidance, oversight and support to maintain high quality outcomes

- Run matters from start to finish with full autonomy and direct client contact

- Contribute to business development and support ongoing marketing efforts

- Help set the tone for future growth, with the firm planning to expand their team in 2026

What We’re Looking For

- 4+ years PQE

- Strong technical capability in all aspects of family law

- Confident running files autonomously

- Warm, grounded communicator with a mentoring mindset

- Someone who brings stability, maturity and leadership to the team

- A positive personality and cultural fit; supportive, team focused, and client centred

- Comfortable in a boutique environment where everyone contributes

- Salary package: $130k - $160k, depending on experience
