Overview

We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Education Support for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Applicants from the previous process IPS/TCH954254 who were assessed as suitable are not required to reapply.

This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The School: Rockingham Senior High School Education Support Centre (SHS, ESC) is an Independent Public School for students in Years 7-12 with special educational needs and is co-located with Rockingham SHS. The Rockingham SHS ESC community is committed to “Building Independent Futures” by making a positive difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

Our school priorities are designed to set conditions for successful learning for our students from the beginning of high school to their transition to adult life. We have established a strong improvement agenda focused on measurable student outcomes and well-being. Teachers will be required to adopt whole school approaches as outlined in our Staff Playbook.

Education Support Teachers will assist in the provision of specialised education support programs and classes, tailored to the needs of small groups of students. Suitable applicants will ideally be motivated, compassionate, flexible, highly organised, and possess a deep knowledge of pedagogy specific to students with disability. Highly developed classroom management skills are highly regarded, as is collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions. Applicants should have proficiency in assessment to identify ability, interests, progress and areas for development and the ability to develop plans/programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. Outstanding communication skills and leadership within the classroom and wider community are desirable.
