Whyalla, Australia Santos Limited Full time

Description & Requirements

Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)

We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do:

As the SAP Solution Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring that our SAP services are optimal, secure, reliable, and aligned with the business requirements. You will drive the technical design, standards, and direction of our SAP environment while ensuring new services are delivered on time and within budget.

This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of Santos' SAP landscape and ensure it aligns with our IS strategy.

Key accountabilities include

- Provide technical consulting to SAP teams and business stakeholders to maintain SAP design standards and system integrity.
- Lead solution thinking to deliver plans that align with the company's strategy.
- Champion a change and performance mindset to drive desired cultural outcomes.
- Implement cost reduction and value creation strategies in your area.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, processes, and governance.
- Develop and deliver SAP architecture roadmaps and contribute to SAP lifecycle planning.
- Provide clear technical direction and align it with business objectives.
- Accountable for the optimisation of the corporate systems environment (cost vs performance).
- Ensure operational acceptance criteria are met in all service designs.
- Maintain governance over SAP architecture and manage supplier relationships.

What you’ll bring:

You will be a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in SAP landscapes, having played a key role in end-to-end SAP implementations. Your deep technical expertise in SAP S/4HANA will be crucial, particularly in design, migration, transformation, and system integration. With a proven track record in solution architecture and system design, you will excel in managing complex projects, ensuring seamless delivery from start to finish while embedding robust security practices throughout.

Your expertise in SAP technical design, development, and integration—combined with your experience in cloud platforms, coding, automation, and security management within Infrastructure-as-a-Service environments—positions you as a leader in driving secure and successful SAP implementations. Your ability to lead, manage, and deliver SAP technical projects with a strong focus on compliance and risk mitigation will be vital in shaping the future of our SAP systems.

What you’ll get:

Here, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.

Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance. In Brisbane this this includes Onsite Gym facilities, Onsite GP services and many more employee benefits.

What you’re part of:

Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone

And because it’s not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It’s about each of us, and all of us – together.

How to Apply:

Applications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before COB Wednesday 15th October 2025.

A requirement of this role is that you will need to have in place the legal work rights for Australia to apply.

Supporting a Diverse Workforce

Santos acknowledges that we operate on the traditional lands of Aboriginal people. We recognise the traditional rights to maintain the culture, identities, traditions, and customs on their country. We are committed to an inclusive environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves. We want our people to feel that all voices are heard, all cultures respected and that a variety of perspectives are not only welcome – they are essential to our ongoing success.

We treat each other fairly and with dignity regardless of race, gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, or anything else that makes us different.
