Task & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

- Document Control and Revision Management:

- Manage and control revisions for all production‑related documents, ensuring that the latest versions are available and accessible to the relevant teams.

- Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards and is accurately filed and maintained for easy retrieval.

- Production Planning and Forecasting:

- Conduct production planning using the daily tonnage sheet to forecast production needs and set daily targets.

- Analyse production data to forecast future production requirements, adjust plans accordingly, and communicate changes to relevant departments.

- Coordinate with the Operations Manager to align production schedules with project deadlines and resource availability.

- Supplier Management and Quality Control:

- Monitor incoming goods from suppliers, conduct inspections, and report on any defects or discrepancies.

- Issue defect notices for any non‑conforming materials and coordinate with suppliers to resolve quality issues promptly.

- Workshop Operations:

- Oversee general workshop operations, including conducting dimensional checks and ensuring that all products meet specified requirements.

- Perform regular fabrication checks to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.

- Support the workshop team in resolving technical issues that arise during the fabrication process.

- Quality Assurance:

- Implement quality assurance procedures throughout the production process to ensure that all products meet or exceed client specifications and company standards.

- Conduct root cause analysis on any defects or production issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

- Continuously monitor and improve quality control processes, ensuring that all production activities align with ISO and AS/NZS standards.

- Safety Compliance:

- Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed in the workshop, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

- Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

- Train and inform employees about safety procedures, emergency protocols, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.

- Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with the Operations Manager ‑ Production and other departments to ensure seamless production operations and on‑time delivery of projects.

- Communicate production status, issues, and updates to the Operations Manager and relevant teams, providing data‑driven insights to support decision‑making.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in quality and safety, encouraging feedback and participation from the production team.

Qualifications & Experience

Key Experience & Competencies:

- 2‑3 years of relevant experience in production engineering within a medium to large‑scale manufacturing or construction environment.

- Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and forecasting methods.

- Proficiency in managing document control and revision processes.

- Familiarity with quality control standards and practices, particularly in a workshop setting.

- Strong focus on safety compliance and the ability to identify and address potential hazards proactively.

- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough inspections and checks.

- Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.

Technical Skills & Education:

- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

- Proficient in using production planning tools and software.

- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and quality assurance processes, including ISO and AS/NZS standards.

- Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel for tracking and forecasting production data.

- Familiarity with Workplace Health and Safety requirements in a production environment.
