Chief Kitchen Steward

- Lead the stewarding operations for one of Australia’s most iconic sporting venues.

- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and back-of-house efficiency.

- Support a large, fast-paced culinary operation during the Australian Open.

As the Chief Kitchen Steward, you will play a vital leadership role in maintaining the highest levels of hygiene and organisation across all back-of-house areas. You’ll lead a team of stewards, ensuring equipment, kitchens, and service areas are spotless, safe, and ready to support the smooth operation of our culinary teams.

The Position

- Lead, train, and motivate a team of kitchen stewards across multiple outlets and kitchens.

- Oversee cleaning operations, including dishwashing, waste management, and sanitation processes.

- Manage chemical usage, stock levels, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

- Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate any maintenance or repairs as needed.

- Work closely with the culinary and operations teams to ensure efficiency during service periods.

- Implement and uphold all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.

The Person

- Previous experience in a Chief Kitchen Steward or Stewarding Supervisor role within a large-scale hospitality, hotel, or events environment.

- Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on training and mentoring.

- Excellent knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment handling, and hygiene protocols.

- Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

- Strong communication and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
