City of Melbourne, Australia Rundle Street, Adelaide, SA Full time

Overview

TBWA Melbourne is seeking a talented Connections Strategist. Someone who loves ideas and loves to bring them into all kinds of spaces and places.

TBWA REPRESENTS

Disruption has never been a catchphrase or a trend. It’s a mindset. It’s a behaviour. We don’t dabble in disruptive thinking. We embody it, day in and day out. When we solve problems, we do it collectively. None of us is better than all of us. Together we strive to create Disruption the world needs.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who has a solid foundation in connections strategy, is confident in writing comms plans, can collaborate with media agencies and feels at home in digital and social. This role is perfect for someone with a solid background in comms and connections strategy and wants to also explore brand and creative strategy going forward.

*Due to the nature of this role working with a government client, Australian citizenship is required*

THE TASK AT HAND

Connections Strategy

- Bring to life consumer insights and behaviours by visualising consumer journey maps
- Provide insights and initiative in connecting with consumers throughout the journey
- Build insightful connections strategies and bring innovative, fresh connections thinking to creative strategy and for creative teams
- Instead of traditional comms plan box ticking, it’s about imagining with creatives the many spaces and places an idea could go

Research and Data

- Apply understanding of first party data and audience segmentation for the preparation of data briefs, contact strategies and message matrices
- Interpret and visualise data in a meaningful way to colleagues and for presentation
- Have a point of view on and support post-campaign performance reporting and results

Social and Digital Expertise

- Excellent understanding of the evolving social and digital comms and media landscape. This includes opportunities for brands across social media, Meta and Google platforms, TikTok, AI, gaming etc.

Brand Strategy Development

- Support the development of disruptive brand and campaign strategies to drive business growth and cultural impact

Cultural Insights

- Stay ahead of cultural trends and consumer behaviours, identifying opportunities to create culturally relevant and impactful campaigns

Thought Leadership

- Contribute to industry discussions and publications, positioning TBWA as a leader in innovation and creativity

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO TBWA

- Solid understanding of comms and connections strategy
- Comfortable with numbers and details
- Both analytical and creative thinker
- Keen awareness of cultural trends and their impact on consumer behaviour
- Good understanding of paid, owned and earned, including social, search, programmatic, partnerships, SEO, and traditional channels.

YOU

- A nice person with a love for great ideas and advertising
- 1-2 years’ experience in similar role within creative or media agency
